We love Montreal for its uniqueness: a welcoming North American city where Anglophones and Francophones cohabit in a harmonious mix of culture. Montreal is renowned as a city of gastronomy, music, arts and festivals that has nothing to envy in comparison to New York City or Paris. It is interesting to visit at any time of the year and with our various year-round packages, it’s easier than ever (or not) to make a choice about when to come and visit. So, when are we welcoming you to Montreal?

WINTER

Montreal is also very exciting during winter and neither the cold nor the snow will slow us down. The tourist offer, over the years, has managed to take advantage of the winter season to the delight of Montrealers and visitors. The Old Port Ice Rink is lots of fun for everyone, and this year there is a new addition that illuminates the landscape of Old Montreal: the Montreal  Wheel. And for those who are sensitive to cold: it is heated! If you are planning a Montreal stay soon, know that from February 22nd to March 5th, it’s the Montreal Light Fest, one of the most important winter festivals in the world, with 1,300,000 festival-goers each year who come to live Montreal’s winter. The program includes: performing arts, gastronomy and free outdoor family activities, not to mention a « Nuit Blanche » (White Night) where, for one night only (March 3rd.), everything in town (or almost) is open 24 hours.

SUMMER

In Montreal, we love to say that the Grand Prix Weekend (June 8-10) marks the official start of summer. There is so much to do in town during summer; the festivals all follow one another, but are all so different. Music lovers? Les Francofolies are taking place from June 7th to 16th at La Place des Festivals (walking distance from HOTEL10), followed by the Montreal Jazz Festival from June 27th to July 8th. If you prefer humour, Montréal Complètement Cirque starts on July 6th, and the Just for Laughs Festival then takes over from July 15th to the 30th. In summer, activities and attractions are certainly not lacking in Montreal!

FALL

When summer temperature starts to drop, we take the opportunity to admire the spectacular landscapes offered by the trees that are changing colour. We enjoy the last rays of the sun on a neighbourhood coffee terrace and take a ride on the Lachine Canal bike path, which stretches 15 km from Lachine to Old Montreal. After a busy day of urban exploration, we warm up indoors in one of the most beautiful urban spas in the city: Scandinave Spa Old Montreal, for a relaxing moment in the warmth in a place of exception, a partner of choice of HOTEL10.
